MD Formulations is a product which uses an alpha hydroxyl acid called Glycolic acid and is derived from sugar cane.
Glycolic acid unglues and dislodges dead skin cells from the outer surface of the skin. This exfoliation process reduces the signs of ageing, sun damage, acne, pigmentation and ingrown hairs, while diminishing fine lines and leaving the skin with a finer texture, a youthful glow and inner hydration and softness. Acne/ breakouts are caused by a build up of oil, bacteria and dead skin cells; by the deep cleansing action of Glycolic acid this is removed from the follicles.

Besides a large selection of home care products, a professional treatment is also available. This is a professional facial in which a high percentage of Glycolic acid is used for an intensive treatment and also to increase the effectiveness of the home care products by 50%. The MD range is very varied to suit all skin types, it is essential that a client wishing to have an MD facial peel has been using a product containing Glycolic acid for at least two weeks. Due to the higher percentage of Glycolic acid used in the MD facial peel, MD products will needed to be used beforehand to prepare the skin.
